About the Gala
BirdLife was first formed 90 years ago as the International Council for Bird Preservation (ICBP) and this special celebratory evening brings together people from all over the world, who over the years have built the BirdLife Partnership into what we know today. It’s a great opportunity to meet many other exceptional people in the global conservation community and the “BirdLife family” who want to make a difference for birds and nature. Funds raised on the evening will support our new 2020 strategy to conserve the worlds birds and our environment.
We look forward to the pleasure of your company and also encourage you to stay overnight to join us on the following day Saturday June 22nd at the concluding plenary session of our World Congress. New ground breaking analysis of what the state of the world’s birds tell us about the environment will be announced along with the launch of the BirdLife 2020 Strategy. There will also be time to debate the challenges and meet with key conservation leaders and those delegates working in the front lines of field work.
And finally, to round off, Margaret Atwood and Graeme Gibson will be hosting an amazing 4 day Rare Bird Club Trip (June 23 – 26) to Avalon Peninsula, Newfoundland. For full details on this please click here.
